The developers of the popular uTorrent Bittorrent client bringing the
version of the application to 3.2 Stable on the Microsoft Windows
platform. The client itself has not yet picked up the new version which
at the time of writing is only available as a download from the official
uTorrent website. It is
likely that the automatic update feature of uTorrent will offer to
update the application eventually. Existing uTorrent users can run a
manual update check with a click on Help > Check for Updates in the
program interface.
The new update is available for both uTorrent and uTorrent Plus, a paid version of uTorrent that includes features that go beyond the downloading and seeding of torrent files. This includes antivirus protection, an HD media player, remote access, and a media converter.
Probably the biggest new feature in uTorrent 3.2 are interface performance improvements that drop the cpu load requirements. Here is a short list of features, improvements and changes that have made their way into uTorrent 3.2
First a Dragons of Atlantis offer, which would install the game on my machine if I would selected yes in the dialog. Good thing is that no preselection had been made.
Then there as the offer to install uTorrent Web Search as my default provider, install the uTorrent Browser Bar, and make uTorrent web search my default homepage. Those offers were all selected by default.
And finally an offer to install a trial version of Winzip, this time without preselection.
I personally do not mind those offers that much as I know how to decline or cancel the offers so that they are not installed on my computer.
If you feel like uTorrent has deteriorated in recent time, you should take a look at qBittorrent, an alternative that has just been released in a new version as well.
What’s your take on uTorrent’s development in recent time?
